Where there is no other terrain, the desert is flat and hard. This makes for rapid, if somewhat dusty, movement.
Because the desert is dry, wind swept and covered in dust, any rapid movement around the desert creates clouds of
dust. These can be both concealing at close range, but also give away troop movements when viewed from a distance.
